It is what it is

Hello one, hello all. This is my new blogger account. I felt this was necessary....I'm ridding myself of my old one. I feel the onus of consistency and quality is on me now that much more now that I've made a new website. I consider my old one dead and dead and dead. I'll have to work on getting a comment box and all of that jive. I can't remember how the deuce I did it the last time. So I'll make this a proper introduction by telling you who I am and what I am doing right now. I'm Will Doran, I'm a 21 year old college student at the University of Illinois. I went to Newcastle-upon-Tyne in England for a year and now I'm back. The best thing I did there was meet my girlfriend, Efi, who lives in Greece. I'm looking forward to visiting her in December.

I have an aversion to bad bars on campus, 'smiley' icons, kittens, religion, 'internet spelling' such as 'lol', the republican party, american politics in general, the Chicago Sun-Times, Wheaton, guns, California, SUVs and ignorance. I like reading, biking, a nice pint at a nice place, my girlfriend, my friends, travelling, Europe, music of all types, coffee, cooking, biting my nails, the crossword puzzle, backgammon and the thought of graduating. I'm sure I like and dislike many other things and through my discourse on this format I will vent. I like writing a lot too, not just for its obvious theraputic value. I had a rhet professor tell us that in order to be a good writer you must write every day. It has something to do with getting the mechanics of writing and the process down so that when one finds his or her muse they are able to facilitate it to the page.

The main reason that I started this blog now, at 12:27 AM is that I'm putting off doing a paper for an American History class that I despise. Insightful, eh? Oh well. I hope this gives me something to do beside looking at porn, watching TV and playing video games in my spare time. Cheers.

Oh, and I'm listening to dance music streaming at www.beirutnights.com right now.
