It is what it is

Ah, feeling a bit better today but plan to spend the day inside watching videos anyway. Mr. Kwilosz gave me some movies (Mora would never watch them because she's a phillistine...HA!) and I'll be hacking through them plus some Six Feet Under. Lovely. Ah, it's a good friday despite everything.

I went to Uncle Dick's funeral today which was sad - he was my Grandpa's brother. He was 75 and he died in his sleep unexpectedly. I didn't really know the man, but by reputation he liked a nice brewski and good craic all around. These funerals really bring the Irish out of everyone, and it was an Irish convention there. My people revel in death, and they'll be at the country club till very late no doubt. My mom tried to force me to go but my ill health excused me. I'm glad, because I wasn't really in the mood for a drinking/talking to people I don't know marathon. Don't get me wrong, I'm usually in for those things. Just not today.

I mourned quietly in my own way.

My dad cracks me up because he tells me the dirt on everyone once they're dead. The Walshes beatify then quickly canonize the dead, but my dad doesn't forget. He'll tell me that they were a lush/flit/houndog/stingy/or just a plain mean bastard. This is not to say that Dick was any of those things, but leave it to my dad to demystify the whole thing. If I died I think he'd complain about two things:

1. Will was a liar
2. Will smoked
